Our Mission Statement
...is simple: Serving God by welcoming all.
Our Purpose Statement
St. John's United Church of Christ of Brighton shares the vision and embraces the rich heritage of its ancestors in faith. With the help of the Lord, the Pastor and congregation, St. John's builds on this foundation and acts as a catalyst for communication, cooperation, healing and growth in the community and around the world. Our doors are open to the diversity of God's children. We welcome them with open arms and hearts, and journey with each other toward the light of God's love. We persevere in our quest to be faithful stewards in our words and in our actions. We withstand the storms of a turbulent world so that we may one day be as one.

Prayer of Welcome
Friend, you enter this church, not as a stranger but as a guest of God, your Heavenly Father. Come then, with joy in your heart and thanks on your lips into God's presence, offering your love and service. Be greatful for the strong and loyal men and women who, in the name of Jesus Christ, built this place of worship and to all who love this home of faith as the inspiration of their labor, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit - and may that blessing be upon you, both on your going out and your coming in.

The Apostle’s Creed for Today
The Apostles' Creed evolved into its present form by the seventh century, although much of the text originated in the first century. It is the creed par excellence of Baptism, widely used when candidates declare their readiness for membership in the Body of Christ and recited during the Great Vigil of Easter as a reminder of our baptismal covenant. It is frequently used in Protestant churches during Sunday worship, and forms an important part of the orders for daily Morning and Evening Prayer in the Anglican Book of Common Prayer.
Beginning on Monday February 1 at 6 p.m., our Bible Study will focus on the meaning of the words contained in each stanza of the Apostles' Creed and how they relate to us today. You are cordially invited to come join us!
