Weekly Service - Sunday - 10:15 a.m.We gladly welcome those from all walks of life, wherever you may be along the path in your faith journey. Our weekly services provide for a well balanced combination of both traditional and contemporary worship, that honors our proud Evangelical heritage, while keeping us evermindful of our continuing role in God's unfolding plan.
Our building is eqipped with a lift to make the main areas of our church accessible to all.
While children are always welcome and encouraged to remain in the sanctuary throughout the service, day care is provided for children under the age of five directly following the Children's Sermon.
The Unexpected....
A visit from the Bishop of Hippo Click photo for larger image. | Refreshing and sometimes...a little unexpected. Our worship service is rarely boring. One of the more recent examples: Rev. Southcombe challenged our Sunday School classes to increase attendence and have everyone arrive on time. The prize: he promised to preach an entire Sunday morning service dressed as, you guessed it, a hippopotamus.
The kids of course, rose to the challenge and as promised, our congregation had a special visit from the Bishop of Hippo. |
Sunday School - Sunday - 9:00 a.m.We invite you to come join us as we discuss our faith within a curriculum which is geared toward being both informative and stimulating. Classes are available for pre-school through adult.
We're So Excited! About our Sunday School curriculum based on the Workshop Rotation Model. The kids are loving the program, the teachers are estatic! Join us and see what all the excitement's about! For more information call the church at: 372-3737.

Coffee Fellowship - Immediately following Sunday service.A chance to catch-up with old friends and foster new friendships, immediately following Sunday service every week in the basement of the church.
Holy CommunionThe first Sunday of every month, and various other special days throughout the year, we celebrate Holy Communion. We serve "open" Communion. If you are welcome at The Lord's Table in another congregation, you are welcome at the table here. If you have been denied the sacrament elsewhere because of something in your history, we invite you to know the forgiving and reconciling Christ through sharing of this holy meal in the midst of this church family. While some churches restrict participation in the sacrament to those who have been baptized into the faith, others see Communion as a possible moment of conversion, leading people to seek Baptism. We leave your participation up to your conscience and belief. If this is your first experience in coming to know Christ through this sacrament, it is our privilege to welcome you. Please see the pastor if you have any questions about your participation in the sacraments of Holy Communion or Baptism.
Our OfferingsThe weekly offering is our response to God's call after prayerfully considering our blessings, the work of St. John's UCC, and how we will participate in God's activity in the world.
To Our Visitors: You are our guests. Although we welcome your joyful participation in the offertory, we certainly do not want you to feel obligated to do so on short notice. If you have questions about the ministries we support, please see the Pastor. May your time with us be a blessing to you. |

Building And Planting
O God of All the Prophets, you knew us and chose us before you formed us in the womb. Fill us with faith that speaks your word, hope that does not disappoint, and love that bears all things for your sake, until that day when we shall know you fully, even as we are known by you.Amen
